In Memory of Our Friend Bob Lundstrom

I know that Bob died a contented man because he had a way of making his dreams come true.  An opportunity arose for he and his wife Betty to purchase “John Lang’s Neck” a 210 acre property with undeveloped river frontage, mixed woodlands and rich salt marsh adjacent to Reid State Park.  They protected it forever by donating a conservation easement on it to KELT.  His dream was to protect splendid land and to always have a place to walk in the woods.  Another dream was the protection of Morse Pond.  Bob first introduced me to this hidden gem in 1992 and he wanted to see it entirely protected.  With his inspiration, in the past five years KELT has preserved nearly all of the shoreline and almost 250 acres surrounding it.  I deeply admire his vision and many actions for conservation in the Kennebec Estuary.  We will all miss him.
