Sustainable Maine: The Kennebec Estuary on MPBNSustainable Maine is a forthcoming documentary series on Maine Public Television. The second episode, airing at 8:30pm on September 27th, is titled Desperate Alewives. It features a collaborative research team from Bates and Bowdoin colleges and the University of Southern Maine led by John Lichter (Bowdoin). The team is focused on the economic and ecological recovery of the Androscoggin and Kennebec Rivers and the impact that alewife restoration may play in that recovery. Much of their research was presented last year at KELT’s 2010 fall lecture series. Please watch this program and attend our 2011 lectures series to stay a step ahead of the crowd on what is happening in your region. Back to News & Events |
