I am happy to introduce myself as the new Stewardship Coordinator for the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust. Some of you may have met me already, or worked with me this past summer. From May to October 2014, I was the Regional Field Person for KELT, helping to map natural communities and trail corridors as well as surveying species and helping with grant applications.
I was very pleased to accept the offer of a continuing position with KELT, in which one of my main responsibilities will be to help recruit and communicate with the wonderful volunteers that are essential to our work. I’ll be involved with planning trail and preserve management activities, and will help set up volunteer training events for the spring and summer.
In addition to working with our volunteers, I will be helping with other aspects of preserve management, from new signs and kiosks to wetland mapping and species inventories. Much of my background is in invasive plant management, so I will also be on the lookout for any undesirable species on our lands and work to remove them.
I very much look forward to working with KELT members and volunteers this upcoming year. If you have any questions or comments about our preserves, or would like to know more about opportunities to help, I’d love to talk to you!
I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at 978-476-6457. You may even see me out on our trails, and as always, you’re more than welcome to drop by at the office, 92 Front St. in Bath.
Enjoy the Woods!
