Water Quality Workshop Series: Agriculture

The Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District (AVSWCD) and KELT have scheduled three workshops with a focus on finding solutions to clam flat closures and restoration. These workshops were funded by a grant from the Maine Coastal Program.  The third workshop is:

Farming for Clean Water

When: April 17th @6pm to 9pm

Where: Bath City Hall on Front Street

The workshop is focused on the management practices and aid available to protect and manage water on farms. Topics and speakers include:

  • Practice Benefits and Programming Available with USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service:  Jim Johnson/Paul Carmichael
  • Storage Designs and the Benefits with USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service:  Candi Gilpatric
  • Nutrient Management Law and Regulations with Maine Department Agriculture, Forestry and Conservation: Mark Hedrich
  • Farm-A-Syst Assessment Tool with Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District:  Susan Gammon

The cost is $6 per person for registrations received by April 15th.  After April 15th, the cost is $9 per person.
