Four conservation commissions and KELT collaborated to create guides for stewarding local land and water resources. They focus on actions people can take in their yards and homes and are specifically tailored for the towns of Arrowsic, Georgetown, Phippsburg, and Westport Island. These 28 page booklets highlight issues important to coastal residents, like caring for septic systems and dealing with ticks. Each town has a unique cover and town focused section. The writing and editing was all completed by volunteers from the conservation commissions. Residents from the towns contributed pictures and artwork that was incorporated into the guides.
This project provided a unique opportunity for collaboration between the four town conservation commissions and KELT. It has paved the way for future new and exciting regional conservation projects!
