Help us reach our fundraising goal this Giving Tuesday!
In the new year, we are excited to continue welcoming people of all ages to KELT’s LOCAL Garden to grow food and community.
LOCAL stands for Leading Our Community in Agricultural Learning. LOCAL Garden is an educational green space open to people of all ages to learn, connect, and grow food for their neighbors who need it most.
Make a gift between now and Tuesday, December 3rd to help the LOCAL Garden grow community.
Tucked into a corner lot on High St and Lemont St in Bath, the LOCAL Garden proudly serves you by...
Growing food for our community
All produce grown is donated back into the community...all those raspberries, zucchini, potatoes, and carrots were given to The Sharing Table at the Patten Free Library in Bath.
Making composting easy and accessible
The LOCAL Garden is home to a compost drop off station for Garbage to Garden. If it grows, it can go into one of the plastic bins for free, weekly pick-up.
Welcoming families and children
We host a variety of opportunities welcoming families and children into the garden: Parent & Baby, Forest Playgroup, ice cream socials and more! Most recently, we built a hobbit house and free library for folks to come and play at any time.
Learning and growing in the garden
This year we welcomed our new garden coordinator Jaime, who brings a bounty of knowledge and many creative ideas for the future of the space. Jaime and her crew of volunteers meet on Tuesday mornings to weed, water, plant, harvest and maintain the garden.
