Invasive Plant Identification
Saturday, July 14 from 10:00am to 12:00pm
Butler Head Preserve in Bath
Join KELT's stewardship coordinator Cheri Brunault for an introduction to invasive plant identification. Cheri will introduce participants to a number of invasives that can be found in local forests and fields. She will also share information about some of the methods KELT is using to manage these plants.
KELT and others are trying to pare back the invasives littering the area. KELT and the Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District are partnering to hold three free educational workshops focused on invasive plant management. These programs will provide residents and property managers across the region with information to support identifying, managing and eradicating the harmful plants.
This is a light rain or shine event and registration is strongly encouraged at www.kennebecestuary.org, using the form below. For more information, contact Ruth at rindrick@kennebecestuary.org or call 207-442-8400.
Don't miss the other two programs on invasive plants that will be held later this summer! A program on August 25th will focus on statewide invasive plant monitoring and management efforts, and a program on September 16th will demonstrate methods that can be used to treat invasive plants using manual or chemical means. This last program will have individual presentations geared towards landowners and land managers.
