After the long Maine winter it’s always a cause for celebration when buds break anew! Come celebrate the arrival of spring with us at the Sewall Woods Preserve in Bath.
Join KELT’s Land and Stewardship Consultant, Tenley Elizabeth Wurglitz, and Maine Master Naturalist Jane Harrison for a leisurely stroll to admire and rejoice in the opening of buds, the unfurling of baby leaves, and the emergence of early Spring wildflowers.
We'll meet in the late afternoon and meander slowly through the rolling wooded landscape of the preserve using all our senses to soak in the arrival of Spring. If participants are interested, our leaders will explain the basics of plant identification and share some of their favorite resources for exploring the world of plants. Our route will cover about 1.5 miles roundtrip on natural surface trails with a few small hills. Participants will have ample opportunities to ask questions and get to know one another along the way. Families with children are welcome. No pets please.
Please bring sturdy hiking shoes and a sense of wonder!
This event will be capped at 12 participants to ensure an intimate setting and registration is required. The rain date for this event will be Friday May 9th at 4:30 PM.
