Bath Climate Conversations: Waterfront, Flooding, and Coastal Waters

  • Patten Free Library 33 Summer Street Bath, ME United States (map)

Come join the conversation about climate change and Bath’s waterfront, flood vulnerability, and coastal waters!

Hosted by Bath Climate Action Commission in partnership with KELT and the Patten Free Library.

When: Wednesday, March 22nd at 5:30 - 7:00pm

Where: Community Room, Patten Free Library (in-person or zoom)

Join experts from Bath and beyond to learn about the interactions between climate change and the waters that flow in and around Bath, and take part in a community discussion to share your thoughts and concerns.

The City of Bath has commissioned an engineering firm to develop a much more accurate model of flood vulnerability than anything that exists for the city, and this presentation will be the first chance to get a look at this new model of Bath’s vulnerability. The model is being developed as part of a climate change vulnerability assessment for the city, looking at vulnerabilities now and in the future with climate change. This new model will incorporate the combined impacts of river flooding from inland and storm surge flooding from the coast to accurately represent vulnerability to flooding today and in the future with sea level rise.

Learn about the areas most vulnerable to flooding and share your thoughts and concerns!

More details about this program are coming soon!!!
