Join KELT for our “Explore the Estuary Trail Challenge” event series!
When: Wednesday August 21 at 2 pm - 4 pm
Where: Beaver Pond Preserve on Westport Island
Join KELT’s Land & Stewardship Director, Andrew, in celebrating the opening of our newest preserve - Beaver Pond!
Meet at the Beaver Pond Preserve trial head for the ribbon cutting at 2:30pm. Then participants will head out for leisurely, guided hikes led by staff. We’ll explore and enjoy the trails, all while contributing miles to our Explore the Estuary Trail Challenge. For every mile we log, $1 will be donated to KELT! The program offered by KELT is free and open to the public. This is a light rain or shine event, and registration is encouraged, using the form below.
Directions: The new Beaver Pond Preserve is located on East Shore Road on Westport Island. From the bridge onto Westport Island, travel 7.1 miles south on ME144. Turn left into the southern entrance to East Shore Road. The parking area is a pull off on your left, about 0.3 miles down the road. Link to a Google Map.
