Celebrate Summer’s End with KELT!
We’re hosting a series of gatherings to close out the summer season and support the work of KELT across the estuary. Join KELT staff, Board, and friends at upcoming events to sample the bounty produced in the Kennebec Estuary, support local businesses, and further KELT’s work to conserve and restore the natural places we all cherish.
When: Saturday, September 7th at 11:00am - 1:00pm
Where: Eros Oysters on Robinhood Cove in Georgetown
Tickets: $45/person (See App Below)
Calling oyster novices and connoisseurs! Join KELT to tour the facilities of a modern aquaculture farm along the shores of coastal Georgetown. Eros specializes in farming Atlantic oysters in the cold, salty, and rich waters of Robinhood Cove. Get the inside glimpse of how these tasty bivalves grow from a seed to shucking-size!
Each ticket comes with a tasting of 4-oysters and a 90-minute tour on a beautiful, shaded lawn and sunny dock on Robinhood Cove overlooking the oyster farm. The tour will end with a lesson in shucking your own oysters, and we will have plenty of time to enjoy a glass of wine while sampling Eros oysters. KELT will provide a few bottles and a sampling of oyster garnishes, but please BYOB your favorite drink pairing and oyster toppings. You’ll be joined by KELT’s team to share how the land trust’s conservation and restoration programs support the dynamic natural systems producing the oysters we all enjoy!
