In spring, there is so much life in our local ponds. When we look a little closer, what will we find?
Come one, come all to the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust’s Pond-o-palooza ‘22! This family-friendly event will focus on all-things pond life.
Led by Maine Master Naturalists, Becky Kolak, Ruth Indrick, and Sarah Otterson, folks of all ages are invited to engage in a pond-themed scavenger hunt and storybook walk, as well as a bucket and net dipping activity in search of pond life. Festivities will take place along the edge of the small pond a quarter of a mile from the parking area and trail head at Thorne Head Preserve (down the Overlook Trail).
Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes, get muddy, and learn about pond life along the way! All supplies will be provided.
Events will be taking place simultaneously throughout the early morning and afternoon, so feel free to arrive anytime during the event’s time window.
This is a light rain or shine event and participants will be notified in the event of cancellation.
Registration is recommended by using the registration form below by calling 207-442-8400. Questions or comments? Email rharris@kennebecestuary.org or call the KELT office via the number listed above.
