Autumn weather signals that it is time to plant garlic! Led by Garden Coordinator Laurie Burhoe, this workshop will discuss and showcase the best practices for growing great garlic in Maine.
Topics during the workshop will include garlic varieties, soil preparation, planting, mulching, harvesting and curing. Seed stock will be available with a suggested $5 donation to support the garden.
Burhoe has been involved with the LOCAL Garden since 2010 and became KELT’s Garden Coordinator in 2016. As a Maine Master Gardener, she works with children, adults, and families to care for the LOCAL Garden and teach gardening techniques.
We ask for a suggested donation of $5 to cover the supplies. This is a light rain or shine event.
