Exploring Nature Through Story!
This summer and fall, KELT is excited to offer storybook trails across the region!
With the help of passionate volunteers, KELT has designed storyboards that will serve as temporary exhibits at a number of our preserves this spring and summer. Come to one or come to all for nature themed stories and outdoor activities for children 6 years old and younger. With a chaperoning adult, young children will be able to walk a trail, explore a preserve, or visit LOCAL garden while reading a beloved children’s nature book one page at a time.
Come explore the wonders of the Whiskeag Trail at the Bath YMCA while reading “Count Down to Fall” by Fran Hawk.
Where? Whiskeag Trail in Bath
When? Temporary Installation will be up from Saturday, October 22 at 10:00AM to Sunday, November 5th at 5:00PM.
Closed toed shoes that can get wet and muddy are recommended.
No registration is required, but pictures of your visit would be greatly appreciated! You can send to info@kennebecestuary.org.
About “Count Down to Fall” by Fran Hawk:
Count backwards from 10 to one during one of the most colorful times of year: fall. Learn about the bright, colorful leaves and the trees from which they fall: aspen, birch, maple, oak, chestnut, linden, pine, beech, dogwood, and sweet gum. Watch the animals frolicking in the crisp, autumn air as they get ready for the approaching cold winter.
