We need your help to remove Oriental bittersweet vines and non-native honeysuckle shrubs in a lovely area of Sewall Woods! This is the launch of our monthly Stewardship Saturday workdays. Come join in on the fun!

No prior invasive plant removal experience necessary – only a willingness to wade into the weeds!  We will provide training and tools and families with children are welcome.

The workday will be led by KELT’s Land & Stewardship Director, Tenley Wurglitz, and our Stewardship Coordinator, Dillon Mulhern.

Please wear sturdy shoes and clothes that can get dirty.  Also, please bring work gloves, water, and loppers if you have them.  We will have extra loppers on hand.

The workday will be capped at 15 participants and registration is required.

To sign up, please use the form below or call 207-442-8400. Have questions? Email Tenley at twurglitz@kennebecestuary.org.

This event is part of KELT’s ongoing series: Stewardship Saturdays!

On the 2nd Saturday of each month, we tackle a stewardship project at one of KELT’s preserves. Some of the projects we need help with include: invasive plant control, building & repairing bog bridges, trimming and re-routing trails, removing litter, and much more. These workdays are an opportunity to help care for the preserves we all love, work alongside fellow nature enthusiasts, and maybe even learn a new skill!

Want to be sure you hear the latest news about upcoming stewardship volunteer opportunities? We invite you to sign up for our stewardship volunteer email list. In addition to sending out information about group workdays, we will occasionally send out requests for volunteers to help with specific or more spur-of-the moment projects. Email Tenley to sign up!

We look forward to working alongside you on a preserve soon!
